I am Palestinian by origin but I was born and raised in the UAE, finished my high school diploma from The Islamic Scientific Institute, lived in Canada for ten years where I finished a double major in mathematics and physics, have been living in Sweden since 1999 where I finished my teacher qualification and master in education from the UK. I am not Arab, European, Canadian, or Swedish. I am all of them and none of them at the same time. I try to take the best of everything and critique everything. If I were to describe myself I would have to say I am a Muslim, not in the sense portrayed by the media but in the sense that I have to be critical of what I believe in, what I value, strive to improve myself on all fronts, be compassionate to others, be understanding of the differences between us, be accepting of others. I know what I accept for myself and how I define my values, morality, and ethics. However, I am also aware that others have their own and should not be judged based on my values. I accept them, don’t judge them, give advice if asked. In a nutshell, live and let live. Leaving philosophy behind, I enjoy cooking, hiking, the beach, rollerblading, which I have learned recently. I still fall now and then. I love it, I mean the rolling, not the falling. I am a good football player. I am kind & agreeable although my friends did not agree with this description of me. They never agree on describing me. Some say I am arrogant and vain and others say I am humble. I don’t know if I am deluded or if my friends don’t know me! I think I should look for new friends! I like sharp humor, not afraid to laugh at myself, like people who are easygoing and those who don’t quite care so much about what others may think of them. I run and swim to stay fit. I was told once by a friend that I am quite good-looking once people get used to my face! Again, I have very strange friends. By the way, I am not photogenic. I seem sad in my photos and I hate my pictures. I think I am MUCH PRETTIER IN THE FLESH, ……hm, or maybe not.
