All other messages will be immediately deleted & blocked so please don't waste our time.** Assalamu alaykum, Talking about myself and summarizing my life in a few paragraphs is always challenging, but Iāll do my best. I'm currently a single mother to a ten-year-old daughter. We recently moved to Minnesota from Pakistan where I lived for almost 10 years. Itās been a struggle to get settled here after leaving and moving back to U.S. with next to no possessions, but being near my family has been wonderful, and I'm feeling more settled in every day. Iāve enjoyed reconnecting with them after so long. My daughter and I are currently living seperate from my family in a two-bedroom apartment and I'm using this time to rediscover who I am, what I like, and what Iām about. Iām an American convert to Islam. I converted in 2000 but didnāt start practicing seriously until 2007. My conversion was a gradual process rather than a dramatic story. As I get older, my focus is on deepening my faith, performing more of the actions that please Allah, and avoiding more of those that donāt. Itās been a continuous process of refining my priorities. I have been married five times since I first converted when I was 20. Some of those marriages were long, almost 10 years, while three were very short as we quickly realized we weren't as compatible as we initially thought. Through these experiences I've learned that I have the capacity to stay and put the needed effort into a marriage if it remains healthy for both of usāa safe space to share feelings, communicate, and grow together. Right now, Iām in a process of growth and change, re-understanding myself, and healing from past trauma and various life experiences. I have a good support system, including therapists helping me focus on my mental, physical, and spiritual health. Regarding my physical health, I admit I'm still currently overweight but I'm in the process of changing that. I hope my future husband will both accept me as I am AND support me in engaging in more of the healthy activities that can help me reach my goals. Iāve lost about 70 pounds from my highest weight six or so years ago, with 60 of those pounds lost in the past year and a half. Itās all about making healthier choices for myself. Ideally, Iām looking for someone nearby due to my daughterās school, family location, and current work situation. Iām open to relocating within the U.S., but it would probably not be until in between school sessions. On a lighter note, I have a background in the arts, and I'm crafty. I enjoy my 4-5 days a week 2 mi. walks along the Mississippi and trying my hand at bird watching and plant identification. On a whim, I recently started taking roller skating lessons, something I enjoyed doing as a kid and let me tell you it doesn't quite come back the same as riding a bike. I fall, but get back up, and no broken bits yet! At this point in my life, I want some peace and ease in a marriage. Iām trying to reconnect with activities that calm my nervous system, make me happy, and recapture some of that youthful, playful spirit, which helps counterbalance some of the intense pain, abuse, and heartbreak Iāve experienced since becoming a Muslim. For a future husband, Iām looking for someone who is extremely understanding and supportive of my healing journey. Someone attentive, interested in learning and growing, secure in attachment, and willing to support a partner who has lived through traumatic experiences. Iām not looking to dump my trauma on a husband exactly and I'm getting better and better at communicating my triggers and feelings, but I recognize that conflicts will arise, and I need a partner who can address them calmly, allowing me the space to be heard and heal. I'm very interested in exploring more woo-woo kinds of practices together like somatic exercises, breathing meditation, eye gazing, and what one might call alternative practices?
